Mission, vision, values, and principles

Mission

The PHEM centre of Si-PHI strives to contribute to the mission of the SPHI by reducing morbidity and mortality from public health emergencies through effective risk identification, preparedness, and response and recovery measures relating to all hazards to population health in Sidaama.

Vision

We aspire to build a PHEM system with all the capacities and capabilities required for risk mitigation, emergencypreparedness, and emergencyresponse and recovery in place.

Values

 

    • Equity:All actors involved in the execution of this strategic plan will strive to expand services to underserved areas, the poor and vulnerable population.

    • Solidarity:A central measure to ensure effective health and nutrition emergencypreparedness and emergencyresponse and recovery shall be engaging communities and other stakeholders at all stages.

    • Decentralization:The regionalPHEM system shall have capable similar structures/core process acrossthe health system in the region, from theregion and moving to the periphery.

    • Collaboration: TheregionalPHEM system strives to ensure a timely response to health and nutrition emergencies through appropriate emergency preparedness, by engaging all relevant stakeholders.

    • Honesty and transparency:The regionalPHEM system shall communicate appropriate information (whenever deemed necessary) to the staff, the public, and the media in an honest and transparent manner.
