Sidama Public Health Institute, in collaboration with Epe-Gen Ethiopia, delivered a training on Writing Potentially Fundable Research Proposals for over 35 participants. Attendees included staff members from Sidama Public Health Institute, representatives from the Sidama Regional Health Bureau, and academic staff from Hawassa University.

The training was facilitated by two distinguished guests: Scholar Dr. Dawit Wolday from Canada, Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences at McMaster University (Hamilton, Canada), and Dr. Ketema Tafess,senior researcher and Academic staff at Adama science and Technology.

During the session, the facilitators shared valuable insights and practical strategies on effective grant proposal development and international research networking.

In his remarks, Dr. Damene Debalke, Director General of Sidama Public Health Institute, emphasized the importance of the training in building the capacity of participants to write strong and competitive grant proposals.

He expressed his gratitude to the trainers for their excellent support and for dedicating their precious time to enable junior health researchers in the region. He also highlighted the need to increase the number of internationally funded research projects, particularly given the wealth of experienced medical faculty within the institution.

Dr. Dawit Wolday further noted that he and his team were pleased to provide the training and share experiences from their previous work.

He explained that the program aimed to empower regional researchers to initiate and sustain interdisciplinary and international research collaborations through strong grant writing skills.

The training will continue for the next two days.

በዛሬው ዕለት የሲዳማ ህብረተሰብ ጤና ኢንስቲትዩት ከኢፒ-ጄን ኢትዮጵያ (Epe-Gen Ethiopia) ጋር በመተባበር ከ35 ለሚበልጡ ተሳታፊዎች “Writing Potentially Fundable Research Proposals” በሚል ርዕስ የገንዘብ ድጋፍ ሊያስገኙ የሚችሉ የጥናትና ምርምር ፕሮፖዛሎችን ማዘጋጀት” በሚል ርዕስ ስልጠና እየሰጠ ይገኛል። በስልጠናው ከሲዳማ ህብረተሰብ ጤና ኢንስቲትዩት፣ ከሲዳማ ክልል ጤና ቢሮ እና ከሀዋሳ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የተወጣጡ ተመራማሪዎችና የስራ ባልደረቦች ተሳትፈዋል፡፡

አሰልጣኞችም በዘርፉ ከፍተኛ ልምድ ያላቸው ማለትም በማክማስተር ዩኒቨርሲቲ (ሃሚልተን፣ ካናዳ) የባዮኬሚስትሪ እና ባዮሜዲካል ሳይንስ ትምህርት ክፍል ተባባሪ ፕሮፌሰር የሆኑት ምሁር ዶክተር ዳዊት ወልዳይ እና ከፍተኛ ተመራማሪና የአዳማ ሳይንስና ተክኖሎጂ ዩንቨርስቲ አካዳሚክ ስታፍ የሆኑት ዶክተር ከተማ ታፈሰ ናቸው። በስልጠናው ወቅት አሰልጣኞቹ ውጤታማ የግራንት ፕሮፖዛል ዝግጅት እና ዓለም አቀፍ የምርምር ትስስር ዙሪያ ጠቃሚ እይታዎችን እና ተግባራዊ ስልቶችን እያካፈሉ ይገኛሉ፡፡

የሲዳማ ህብረተሰብ ጤና ኢንስቲትዩት ዋና ዳይሬክተር ዶክተር ዳመነ ደባልቄ ባደረጉት ንግግር፥ አሰልጣኞች ጥሪያችንን አክብረው ውድ ጊዜያቸው ሰጥተው ያላቸውን የዳበረ ልምድ ለማካፈል፣ እና ጀማሪ ተመራማሪዎቻችንን ለማብቃት በመምጣታቸው አመስግነው፣ ስልጠናው ለተሳታፊዎች ጠንካራ እና ተወዳዳሪ የሆኑ የግራንት ፕሮፖዛሎችን የመጻፍ አቅማቸውን ለማሳደግ ያለውን ጠቀሜታ አፅንዖት ሰጥተው ገልጸዋል።

ዶክተር ዳዊት ወልዳይ በበኩላቸው፥ እሳቸውና ቡድናቸው ይህንን ስልጠና ለመስጠትና ያላቸውን ልምድ ለማካፈል እና መደሰታቸውን ገልጸዋል።

ይህ ፕሮግራም ጠንካራ የገንዘብ ድጋፍ አጻጻፍ ክህሎትን በማሳደግ፥ የክልሉ ተመራማሪዎች ዘርፈ-ብዙ (interdisciplinary) እና ዓለም አቀፍ የምርምር ትብብሮችን እንዲጀምሩና ዘላቂ እንዲያደርጉ ለማብቃት ያለመ መሆኑንም አስረድተዋል።

ስልጠናው ለሚቀጥሉት ሁለት ቀናትም የሚቀጥል ይሆናል፡፡
